Invitation to Elkington Forest

ANN MORTIFEE & PAUL HORN invite you to an event. from Living Forest Communities on Vimeo.

My love affair with the forests began decades ago when I first donned backpack and set off into the mountains. Now, Paul and I live tucked amongst hundreds of acres of preserved forestland.

It was out of this love of the woods that a sadness began to gather in me each time I passed a clear-cut devastated by industrial logging. In response to my desire to promote a gentler alternative to the way we work and live in the forest, friends and I formed the Trust for Sustainable Forestry. Much of my time over the last 9 years has been devoted to developing a conservation model and finally we are ready to share our vision in a broader way.

On Sept. 11th, Paul and I would like to invite you to join us as we celebrate a momentous milestone in our journey. We are hosting a gathering at Elkington Forest, just north of Victoria, BC. Through our partnership with Living Forest Communities a second conservation community is about to be launched. Paul and I are blessed to be able to purchase one of the first lots and we will be having a ground-breaking ceremony for the building of one of the first homes.

Please think about joining us. We will have cake and refreshments together, time to relax and enjoy nature at its best. I feel so thrilled to have come to this point, and who knows, you might even desire to join this special conservation community that will help to conserve 1000 acres of pristine forest.
Love,
Ann
