Waking to the Rhythm of a New Myth – Nov. 19 – 24, 2017

November Workshop at Esalen Institute with David Feinstein and Ann Mortifee

“Your personal mythology is the internal guidance system that shapes your journey through a world of bewildering personal and social change,” say David Feinstein and Ann Mortifee. “The more effective your guiding mythology, the better equipped you are to meet the challenges your life presents.”

In this workshop, you will systematically examine your guiding mythology and make deep shifts in areas where it is not serving you. The outcome can be a renewed guiding mythology that is more fitting, more vital, and more spiritually attuned. Informed by contemporary neuroscience as well as ancient spiritual traditions, the workshop integrates a wide variety of procedures, such as guided journeys into the deep imagination, role plays, dreamwork, and the stimulation of acupuncture points for the purpose of shifting neural pathways that support outdated patterns of thought and behavior.
Participants are asked to bring a journal (paper or electronic) and invited to record their dreams prior to the workshop.
Note: While this program involves deep psychological exploration, it is not a substitute for psychotherapy. If you are currently in psychotherapy, or are facing psychiatric challenges, please obtain explicit agreement from a psychotherapist about participating in a workshop that may bring up unresolved emotional issues.
There will be a celebratory Thanksgiving dinner in the Esalen Lodge.
